A vast tree planting campaign across the world could play a huge part in reducing our net carbon emissions. Tree planting is a climate change solution that is available now, is relatively low cost and every one of us can get involved. As trees grow, they absorb and store the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global heating. The Committee on Climate Change says the UK needs to increase its woodland by around 30% – no small feat. But Individuals can make a tangible impact by growing trees themselves, donating to forest restoration organisations and avoiding irresponsible companies. Snitterfield Actioning Climate Change will be taking on the tree planting challenge in our community but we can’t do it alone. If you wish to get involved in the tree planting initiative please get in contact with SACC via our Contact link.
