How you can benefit from discounted solar photovoltaic panels and the Feed-in-Tariff?

Initiated by the West Midlands Energy Saving Trust, the Snitterfield Community Solar programme has been a great success with 37 installations to date.

THE SNITTERFIELD COMMUNITY SOLAR PROGRAMME

18 Households initially expressed an interest in joining the scheme and all received quotations from the two shortlisted installers. Both installers and residents attended a question and answer meeting and a vote was held at the end of the meeting to identify the preferred installer. The vote yielded a clear favourite.

The quotes received to date have demonstrated that buying as a group can bring significant savings over individual purchases.

An average photovoltaic system of 4kWp will cost around £7250 +5% vat. It will offer maximum savings of £884 per annum through the Feed in Tariff and reduced electricity bills. If you are interested in a free quotation please contact a SACC member on 01789 731348 or email parkers @letia.co.uk

By installing renewable energy you’ll also be reducing your carbon dioxide emissions. A 2kWp system would save approximately one tonne of carbon per year. That is equivalent to around half of an average household’s carbon emissions from electricity usage.
