Obtaining Electricity from a Green Supplier

One of our initiatives is to invite the residents of Snitterfield (or anybody else viewing our web site) to transfer their electricity supplier to one that supplies electricity from renewable sources. This is an instant way of significantly reducing your carbon footprint.

The Parish Council signed up with Good Energy for Snitterfield Village hall in September 2007.

SACC researched the market for you and recommend Good Energy, Green Energy and Ecotricity. If you want to find out more read our information letter. Green Energy Marketplace is a useful website offering impartial advice on all Green tariffs available.

However. 'Many green tariffs are not delivering the environmental benefits they claim to' (National Consumer Council)

Some people have been reluctant to switch to a green energy supplier since they loose the dual fuel discount . Don't let this stop you anymore. Don't delay. Click on the Green helpline banner below now.
If you still need convincing to switch, then read the key facts here.

Still Need Convincing Back to Top

2 tonnes/year is the average reduction that you can make to your CO2 footprint by switching your home to a 100% renewable energy tariff.

2 tonnes of CO2 is 1/3rd of the annual CO2 footprint from household energy use in the average UK home and is:
- The same amount saved by unplugging your T.V. for 44 years.
- Enough to fill two Olympic size swimming pools.
- The same amount emitted traveling 5000 miles in the average petrol car.
